Outcomes shared within, and external to, the enterprise are quantified while trend and root-cause analysis, as well as other types of advanced analytics, are used to inform progress, priorities, and resource needs. Inputs and outputs of single and partnering organizations are still tracked but are used less as markers of success. Measures also continuously evolve over time.

  • Social Return on Investment is an APHSA police brief that introduces social return on investment (SROI) and highlights SROI methodologies, tools, and models that have been implemented by government, philanthropic, and for-profit and nonprofit organizations. It identifies several key considerations in the use of SROI and explores some of the policy and practice implications of an SROI approach to impact measurement.
  • Social and Behavioral Sciences Team Annual Report (September 2015) delineates the application of behavioral insights to federal policy and measures the impact of these applications on key outcomes using rigorous evaluations.
